I Die...

Totally worthy of a second post today....

Is it crazy I totally want all three Barbies AND the calendar? Not to mention all of the shoes....

In the words of RZ: "I Die."

One day....

My wonderful parents are on vacation this week. Are they in Palm Springs,
maybe Mexico, or hiking in Colorado?

Nope. They are doing this and going to places like here where my dad said he was going to wear a tux and pretend to be James Bond.

(Let's just hope he didn't get too eager and try to play
at the James Bond table: minimum bet, $5,000.)

Today, their cruise takes them to Sardinia, Italy

And tomorrow they're off to Sorrento:

They deserve it; they've worked hard and given me and LittleBro everything we needed and almost everything wanted...but why I couldn't I go?!!!

Oh right, that "work" thing. Dangit.

*Sigh* maybe when I'm 50+ years old and an empty nester....
better get back to making the $$$!!

Making It Happen....

I'm so proud to write this blog post, I'm almost in tears! This gorgeous girl:

Is the newest face of the news at KCWY13 in Wyoming!

She has dreamed of being a newscaster as long as I can remember and, as if anyone ever doubted it, she's made her dream come true! Our whole family is so proud of her tenacity and perserverance; she accepted this job and uprooted herself from her native California all the way to Wyoming in a matter of days!

At her graduation from SF State last year (Yes, she's been out of college A YEAR, oh and she graduated in 3 years, no biggie...)

We are so so proud of you!! Your mom would be too!
Love you tons! Can't wait to see you anchoring the TODAY Show in a few years ;)

Toobin'

This past weekend was my fourth (and final!) consecutive weekend away from home. I headed south to meet some friends in Gruene, Texas to float the Guadalupe River. It was hot and sunny, but the water was cold and the drinks were too, so we had a blast. Good food, good friends, I was a happy camper!

No pics, sorry, totally forgot my camera :(. But this is basically what it looks like:

Note: I highly recommend Gruene River Company when floating the river. They were nice, speedy and didn't totally make our lives difficult like other companies have in the past!

Hope you had a great weekend too!

Oh wow.

Antonio Cromartie used to play for my beloved Chargers. He now plays for the Jets, along with LT.

This is just a snipet of an episode of HardKnocks with the Jets this season. 2006-2007 was a busy year for Cromartie.....

The big 2-1

Little bro is growing up quick, he turns 21 today!!! Crazy to think this little guy

Is now legally old enough to drink! Happy birthday Bubba!!!

Colorado Wedding Weekend

Last Thursday, I boarded a plane with some girlfriends, bound for a fun three days of wedding festivities in Boulder, Colorado! One of my nearest and dearest sorority sisters married her high school sweetheart in a totally idyllic setting. Everything, from the weather and the company, to the amazing details, was perfect; we had a total blast! Dancing three nights in a row may be a little tough on the feet, but it was awesome!

Phase one of the bachelorette party was a field day, heck yes!

AMAZING Boulder. Gosh, please take me back there now!

Some of us with the bride at the St. Julien hotel after the rehearsal dinner

Me and the groom's youngest sister on the party bus after the ceremony

Yay!!!!!

I also got to see a girlfriend from junior high, which was such a fun little blast from the past! Overall, a wonderfully amazing weekend!

Money Talks

Well, if this doesn't spell it out for you, I'm not sure what will.
Recent findings by the CDC say that, on average, an obese person costs their state $1,429 more in healthcare each year than does a normal/healthy weight person. 24/7 Wall Street looked at the percentage of obesity in each state population, then calculated how much that is costing each state per year. The numbers are staggering.

California
Percentage of the Population Considered Obese: 24.8%
Healthcare Costs to the State Annually: $13,098,918,028
(yes, folks, that's over $13 BILLION)

Texas
Percentage of the Population Considered Obese: 28.7%
Healthcare Costs to the State Annually: $10,163,792,043

And now I need to go make a few laps around the building....

Ridiculous

Ryan Guy was a year ahead of me in highschool and, in addition to being a super talented athlete, he was a great guy. Now, he's living his dream over in Europe playing soccer. This video was taken of him playing against Manchester United, which was a HUGE opportunity for him. And of course, he had to do his signature move!!

One down, four to go!

This weekend, my dad's family all got together to celebrate the first grandchild's wedding. My oldest cousin married an amazing woman whom I've been very lucky to know from the very beginning. While there were some glitches at the beginning (thank you, American Airlines, for canceling my flight 10 minutes after we were supposed to be boarding...), it was a great weekend of family, friends and LOTS of fun. Who knew so many of my family members could tear up a dance floor?!

The bride and groom out after the rehearsal dinner!

The whole fam enjoying a great party!

And what might be the greatest picture of LittleBro dancing ever!

Right before the garter toss.

Overall, a great weekend. I actually ENJOYED Lubbock!!

Pendley's, Wallis' and Moore's...oh my!

Today I'm headed to the lovely oasis that is Lubbock, Texas (yes, you detect sarcasm). While the location is not ideal in the middle of this ridiculously sweltering summer, I'm VERY VERY EXCITED because this weekend, I get a new cousin-in-law! (She's pretty fabulous) And with AuntPartyP putting on the show, I just know it's going to be amazing.

The happy couple last year on the evening of their engagement!

So have a wonderful weekend and I'll be back next week with (totally awesome) photos!

Destiny

I attempted to satisfy my recent craving for Chinese food (WHY isn't there a Pick Up Stix in the state of Texas?!) with a trip to Pei Wei today and got this little gem in my fortune cookie:

"You are a lover of words.
Someday you should write a book."

Like I haven't thought of that yet.

Million dollar question: What the heck do I write about??

I'm sorry, what?

I took this photo while driving to meet some of my fave friends for din din this evening (uh, The Porch = phenom).

Yay Texas. Not.

I heart lightning bolts....

This might be one of the greatest things I've ever seen and I just might have to steal the idea...

PS - Opening Day is September 13th....I can hardly wait!!
