Yet another list...

I love magazines; for the longest time, I really wanted to work for one (yes, I legitimately wanted Anne Hathaway's job in "Devil Wears Prada" incessantly ringing cell phone and all). Any casual women's magazine reader knows the arbitrary "100 Ways to [insert something about your body, job, sex, or hair here]" list.

Well, Glamour's blog "Single-ish" has made a list I actually can agree with. It's titled: 11 Things Every Girl Should Hold Out For

Without going overboard on personal details, my dating track record isn't anything to write home about (which is probably why my grandpa asks me all the time "Have you found Mr. Right yet?"). I've had some serious crushes, some crushes I look back on and wonder "why?" and once, I was lucky enough to find a guy who I think, really cared for me because of the person I am. It didn't work out, which is ok, but it was a pretty incredible feeling. Looking at this list, there are the requiste "someone who makes you laugh" or " a guy you respect" but there are some others, "a guy who agrees with you about travel" or "a guy who will attend your lame things" that maybe aren't always thrown in the mix.

For me, the #1 reason "someone who sees you the way you want to be seen" is a really important one that I'm not sure every girl really considers.  Because, while your siginficant other may think you're beautiful, funny, and love you for your compassionate nature,  you may really value your intelligence. If he doesn't consider you very smart, then he isn't seeing the real "you". He doesn't have to love you for the same reasons YOU love you, but if you think you can win a Nobel Prize and he doesn't even think you can finish an easy level Sudoku by yourself, I think some re-evaluation may be in order!

Ronaldo who?

Anyone who remotely follows soccer internationally (or follows the tabloids religiously) knows that Cristiano Ronaldo is the pretty-faced playboy of Portugal's World Cup team. But as of this morning, I say, "Ronaldo who?"

Hello world...

I've thought about starting a blog for awhile now, but I never took the time to do it. But the same question keeps coming back to me: WHY NOT? (Anyone who went to high school with me, name the kid who put that on his graduation cap the year before us....!)


So, I decided to come up with a list of reasons why I should start a blog instead:


-I have tons of friends and family all over the world (I know, I'm soooo cool) and I am terrible at keeping touch. I admittedly do not like talking on the phone, thank Best Mom Ever for that one, she doesn't like talking on the phone either. And she hates ironing, hence why I rarely buy clothes that will ever need to ironed!


-I miss writing. Even if it's only going to be to chronicle the San Diego SUPER Chargers' march to the SuperBowl this year (I can dream, right?!) or brag about the fact that my cooking skills are actually getting better (I swear, they are!), it's still writing. 


And the REAL reason I'm going to start this blog...
-Let's face it, I like to talk. And this is basically like talking, to myself, but while pretending other people care about what I'm saying, at the same time. MY DREAM COME TRUE!!!
